As a small Vancouver agency, we are responsive, affordable and reliable. Because we have big agency experience, we bring conceptual and strategic thinking to every project we tackle.
What We Do
Featured Work
Here’s what we’ve been up to lately. Scroll down further to see more of our work.
MS Society
With MS, signals from the brain fail to reach the body. This can lead to a sudden loss of movement in the limbs, paralysis, or even blindness. It's a degenerative disease that forces a body to betray itself. The MS Society is fighting to end this malady. And they could use your help.
The epic photography took the idea to the next level. It was recently selected as an Applied Arts winner and it won a silver at the Summit International Awards.
If you love your pets as much as Anthea does, you'd take this sticker you received in the mail and put it on your front door for firemen (and all of your visitors to see).
It gets cold here in Canada. If your furnace goes out in the middle of winter - it’s bad news. This vivid print campaign was featured on Ads of the World.
One thing you'll notice about the Georgia Straight is that almost all of the big, full-colour ads are for developments. With Evan, we wanted to do things a little differently, to stand out from the sea of renderings.
We added some levity to a heavy topic. 10% of all Canadians have criminal records for stupid stuff they did when they were kids. PSC expunges records so they can travel, get a job, and live a normal life.
Disney had US $200 to promote their Halloween Night Pass, so we spent the money on actresses and monster costumes and the rest on garlic. (Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong 2007)
Eggs, Milk, Soup, Bread. The average grocery list is a mess. It has you doubling back and forth from one section to another. To make the experience more efficient and enjoyable, Buy-Low Foods gave away a free memo pad/shopping list designed around the floor plan of the store. It's 25 pages with a magnetic backing to keep on your fridge at home. And with a list in one place, it keeps shoppers coming back and buying more than ever.
We turned expensive Canpages (Yellow Pages) ads into laminated envelopes and mailed them back to their owners with an offer to take them online for half the price.
Transit is one of the cheapest, yet most effective mediums in Vancouver. It’s a moving billboard that stays up for months, for a fraction of the cost of print.
Anthea in Transit
Anthea the poet is back. You can find her versatile verse in the buses and Skytrains throughout Vancouver.
There are dozens of schools in Vancouver and they all advertise on transit. So how do you stand out? Conceptual headlines in bright, vivid red is a good way to turn a small media buy into a big attention-getter.
This campaign ran on the backs of 35 buses in Vancouver, and in the interiors of 50, for almost ten weeks - all for less than the price of a full-page ad in a major newspaper.
We built the PRIMED brand from scratch. It went from one tutorial with four students to becoming a nation-wide brand, recognized by the Canadian Nursing Association, with 10 classes a year in 5 cities across Canada (all sold-out), an iPhone app, a lucrative online quiz and a successful business model that runs itself.
We used to work for the clients of big agencies. Now we just work for clients. With the middleman gone we charge a lot less for the same product.
There are downsides to buying direct, of course. We don't have secretaries, fancy lounges, or expense accounts. Sorry. We don't smoke cigars or drive fancy cars. In other words, you don't have to pay for any nonsense.
Just ideas and hard work.

Mike Catherall founded Immersion Creative in 2008. Previously, he was an award-winning copywriter for international agencies Ogilvy & Mather and Publicis for accounts such as Disneyland, Western Union and Mercedes-Benz.
When we called Mike, we had an idea of what we were trying to do but had been unable to articulate it in a coherent way to others. Mike helped us organize our thoughts and worked with us to develop a concept that clearly describes who we are to potential clients. The best thing about working with Mike was that he became a key part of our team, described to us decisions that had to be made and provided expert advice on the implications of our decisions. The end result: a product that we love and feel is our own, but could not have happened without Mike's expertise and insight.
Rob Miller Miller Titerle LLP
Immersion Creative was vital to the growing success of our business. We had a good product, but nobody knew about us. Through social marketing and creative advertising Mike helped us acquire 540% more students.

We are a twenty-year old company which has gone through several different identities and images. Mike Catherall's approach was that of a genuine stakeholder. He spent time in the office, researched our business and competitors, and gained an implicit understanding of what we did and what we stood for. He articulated his understanding and defined us to the marketplace, and indeed to ourselves. The staff are proud and the market views us as genuine (in a marketplace of glib, commonplace articulations of identity). His approach is unconventional but it works - we are making more money.

I got a random call yesterday from someone who just "wanted to congratulate us on an amazing campaign." I also got a call tonight from someone who wants to buy a condo. I'll be meeting with him next Sat so keep you posted:) So all in all, stellar feedback on the campaign from my colleagues, randoms and potential clients. Thank you!

Mike’s creativity, passion and drive for perfection have helped our organization move into the next phase of our brand existence. I would recommend Immersion Creative to any company looking for a fresh approach to their advertising campaign.
